Dear Michael,

Welcome to the NEW Prickly Pear District newsletter!  It is our goal to do a better job communicating with you on upcoming events, training's, activities, and other Scouting related information.  We hope that you will find this a useful tool to communicate important information to you.

Roundtable and Recharter Reminder
Roundtable and Recharter Turn-In is this Wednesday, November 13
Don't forget Recharter's are DUE this Wednesday at Roundtable. Congratulations to the following units for already submitting their recharter paperwork: Troop 1218, Pack 4216, Troop 1216, and Team 6216.

If you are having any difficulties or questions about Recharter, please come to Roundtable and we will be standing by to help you.

Roundtable is our monthly gathering of leaders from all over the district held at C.R. Anderson Middle School (1200 Knight St.) in Helena at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month.  All leaders are encouraged to attend, including Den Leaders, Committee Members, Assistant Leaders, Cubmasters, and Scoutmasters.  Here you will learn program ideas from your upcoming months meetings, information on upcoming district and council activities, supplemental training, and network with other leaders.

Roundtable is not held in December, June, or July.

Membership
Congratulations to all of our Units for having a great Fall Recruitment!  The Prickly Pear District is currently less than 80 youth away from having membership growth for the end of the year.  If each unit recruits and submits applications on just two more youth, the district will achieve its Membership goal.

Your Scouts are the best salesmen for Scouting.  Peer to Peer Membership Recruitment Incentives are available for your Scouts.  For Cub Scouts, each new Scout recruited as well as the boy who recruited him, will receive a Montana Council Flashlight.  Flashlights will be available at Roundtable in November for all new boys recruited since August.

Boy Scouts can earn a Boy Scout Recruiter Pocket Knife.  Complete this form by December 25, and submit to P.O. Box 1083, Helena, MT 59624.

Please contact Matt Specht if you have any applications to turn in.

Training
Every Youth Deserves A Trained Leader
Being a trained leader is one of the most important steps in making sure you are providing a quality program to your Scouts.  Research has shown that boys will stay in Scouting longer if they have an organized and fun program.  All Cub Scout Leader training courses are available online and many Boy Scout supplemental training's can also be completed online.  Visit www.myscouting.org to complete the training for your position.

The Prickly Pear District is committed to helping you deliver the best program.  On November 16 we will be offering a day of training for Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders.

Cub Scout Leaders: 9 AM - 12 PM.  Cost is $5
Boy Scout Leaders: 9 AM - 4 PM.  Cost is $10 (lunch provided)

Neighborhood Assembly of God Church, 2475 Stuart St., Helena
